Market Harborough Drama Society (MHDS) is an amateur organisation, established in 1933, and a registered charity (number 257746). We have over 250 members in total, of whom about 50 are actively involved in acting/directing. We own Harborough Theatre and run it without any regular grant aid from The Arts Council, local councils or similar bodies.

We have recently increased the number of productions from six to seven each year, and we also act as a host theatre/venue for visiting productions by other local performance and arts groups, visiting productions by touring professionals, and events by various community groups. The local film club, Octagon Films, runs regular digital cinema nights in our theatre auditorium with over 35 cinema nights each year - <click for their website>. The Ship Of Fools comedy company, run by Alan Seaman, presents the Ha! Ha! Harborough !! comedy nights in the theatre bar from time to time.
