MHDS ~ Season 2007/2008
Our season runs from September through to June with six main plays (which are
staged entirely by MHDS) plus various visiting productions, Octagon Films
cinema nights, and a variety of special events and activities. The list below
includes forthcoming events which have been booked thus far, and new items will
be included as they become scheduled - watch this space. Evening performances
normally start at 7.45 (doors open 7.15), matinees at 2.30 (doors 2pm). There
are some exceptions, but these showtimes are printed on posters and
tickets.

25th to 29th 2007 The Herbal Bed by Peter Whelan The dramatisation of a famous libel trial in Stratford-upon-Avon, in 1613. Did Susannah Hall, Shakespeares daughter, commit adultery or not? Riveting theatre. November 13th to 17thThe Heiress by Ruth & Augustus Goetz It is 1850. A plain, but wealthy heiress is wooed by a handsome stranger, but is he after her, or her money? Beautifully written. The Oscar winning film was nominated for eight! January 15th to 19th 2008Arsenic & Old Lace by Joseph Kesselring The classic comedy. Two elderly spinsters decide to help elderly gentlemen into a better world with the help of a little arsenic. February 19th to 23rdThe Exorcism by Dan Taylor Two couples are spending Christmas in a remote cottage when strange and terrifying things begin to happen. (Not to be confused with the horror film The Exorcist.) April 22nd to 26th Blue Remembered Hills by Dennis Potter This was an acclaimed TV play. A group of adults re-enact the events of a day during the Second World War when they were all children playing in the Forest Of Dean. June 10th to 14thSee How They Run by Philip King Chaos reigns in this hysterically funny, fast paced farcical comedy set in a vicarage where, if things can go wrong, they do. |
May 10th 2008 @ 2.30 pm Funny Business with Fraser Hooper Especially for the younger audience, 5 to 12 years old. Guaranteed giggles galore from a show that has been delighting audiences of all ages worldwide with classic clowning, ridiculous routines, comedy and eccentric dance plus hilarious audience involvement. Fraser Hooper has appeared at Harborough's Arts Fresco event, now see him on the theatre stage. Funny Business runs for an hour. 2008 @ 2.30 pm and @ 7.45 pm Redeeming Features with Lynn Robertson Hay Lynn returns to her home town with her marvellous one-woman show, in aid of the PROSTaid charity. Tickets available from Harborough District Council ~ afternoon matinee £8 adults and £6 children & concessions ~ evening performance, including Champagne & Strawberry supper, £15. May 17th 2008 @ 7.45 pm Rum & Vodka with Drew Webb Drew Webb, also a Harborian, comes home with a tale of massive over-indulgence. Tickets available from ABC Music £9 (£8 concessions). |
